No, you have it hooked up right. Go to the addresses I listed above. One of them should ask you for a username and password. Use the details that the manual tells you to.
iv typed them both into the search bar and they will not take me anywhere do i just type 192.168.1.1 ? sorry but i am not good with these things as you can tell
yes, just type 192.168.1.1 into internet explorer and go 'go'. if nothing comes up, try 192.168.0.1. If you still get nothing, look in the router's manual. That will tell you what the homepage is.
Your PC is connected to the router? Go to start->run Network connections go to local area connection and see if you've been given an IP address.
there is only my virgin media modem ther and there is an ip address and subnet mask for that but nothing shown about the belkin
yes but it is my motorola surfboard i wa looking in my firewall advanced settings and non of them are ticked shouldn't allow incoming router request be ticked????
Why is your motorola surfboard coming up under local area network? It's plugged in over USB isn't it?
Well that depends what firewall you use. I've no idea what tickboxes you have, but temporarily disable the whole firewall and see if it works.
it was already disabled should i enable allow incoming mask request and allow incoming router request i have windows xp sp2
If the firewall is off and you have no other firewalls, then that won't be necessary. Which lights on the Belkin are on, off or flashing?
