    Does it have to be external?

    Newegg.com didn't have the benq 1655 external. Some peeps put an internal drive in an external enclosure and hook them up via usb.

    You can try the external BenQ, make sure the enclosure that it is in has a Prolific chipset. This is supposedly the only chipset that will allow the lightscribe feature to work. One of our members IHoe bought the BenQ in a Galaxy enclosure, which does have the Prolific, but Nero not Sure Thing Label would recognize the lightscribe, but the burner worked fantastic.

    @saugmon

    well the only reason i was going externalwith the 1655 is because i already have a benq 1650 and a dvd-rom drive in the computer already. can i have 3 drives in the computer?

    @arniebear

    thanks for the infro mation about the chipset with the enclosure.so should i email them and try to find out about the chipset or should it say somewhere? An you would think that the enclosure would work prefect with the benq 1655 because they are selling them both together but from what you are saying i guesss not.

    I've got 1 of each in that pic,from how I label all my dvds:

    1 Full hub white inkjet printable
    1 Reg hub shiny inkjet printable
    1 L/S,before an enhancement I added-I added an enhancement to help the clarity-thanx to arniebear for that utility.That pic is without the enhancement-poorer image quality.
    1 regular sharpie marked dvd

    My ls backups are black and all the variations of color brown-bronze/gold/tan/etc.

    I use labels downloaded from this site:

    http://covers.box.sk/.

    Depending how those disc labels look,determines how I print my covers.

    For white/full hubs-definitely the darker covers.
    Ligher ones,shiny-but I got to watch out because these are reg hubs
    For bronze/gold/-I'll use the lightscribes.

    Of all my printable media,the shiny inkjet printables are by far the best looking covers.I'd like to find the full hub shiny.
    Then the white full hubs,and then LS.

    I haven't found the white/glossy full hub printables yet. The covers should look very good.

    TDK has some photo quality discs. Not sure if reg hub or full hub.I also don't like the majority of TDK's manufacturers.

    The LS backkup is the greatest game ever played,in the lower right corner. That was when I was scribing them twice-30 mins per pass. Not a very good cover,but the enhancement utility I download cleared it up better. I've got no pics of any after enhancing them. I can't remember the last LS disc I scribed. I'm mostly using shiny inkjet printables.I'd like to get a hold of some good white/glossy full hub inkjet printables.

    I believe arniebear linked me to the Lightscribe ELCU utility?

    Extended Label Contrast Utility- by HP:

    Takes a couple mins longer,but well worth it for the better contrast on those LS backups. I don't have the link,but probably try googling Lightscribe ELCU, and it's free.

    Download it
    You have to have your lightscribing software already downloaded.
    Open up ELCU,set it up-and it should stay that way as default.

    It's pretty simple.
