some people have bought single tuner boxes and wish they went for twin for recording.

I really would prefer a dual tuner box. My worry is that it is twice the cost.

Do you think the initial outlay of £150 more is worth it for an extra tuner?

if you are quite happy to sit with the mrs and watch the omnibus edition of eastenders while your favourite sport or team is live on another channel......then maybe not.
myself, i'd rather watch my game and record the dross for my other half.
i suppose it's down to who wears the pants lol.

We generally agree on what we're watching, the main driver for the recording feature is so we can watch things like X Factor and fast forward through all the rubbish.

    Thanks,

    Simon

I think I've pretty much decided on a Vu+Duo now and going to ask for the other half to pay towards it for my birthday present :)

The next question is, where is the best place to get one?

    Thanks for the PM pal,

One of the options I have is for a network adapter which is extra. I thought the box already came with an ethernet plug in order for the box to connect to the net?

    Thanks,

    Simon

the wireless adapter is just an optional extra in case your box is sited away from the router.
if the box is sited within reach of the router you can simply connect the two by ethernet cable which is preferable due to occasional wireless problems within the home.

Thanks Popeye. I understand the wireless which isn't a problem as I've run an ethernet round the room to the media area. One of the options is for "wired networking" that's what through me a little bit...

    Thanks,

    Simon

there is no pm relevant to a vu duo supplier. if you want a proper box you go to www.world-of-satellite.com. they supply the genuine stuff. the other stuff (and i have learnt this the hard way) is pants

alien2 has limited image support. vu duo has a big vix development team behind it. hence the reason spending a few bob extra is worth it
