I hate that song so much I almost banned you (kidding!). I appreciate the thought though :)

It's time for me to cast a vote and it goes to darthnip who's been my moderating mentor from day one. He's a sick, twisted, take-no-prisoners kinda guy and I love him to bits for it!

Those Duramax's are impressive engines. I have to lean close to one that's idling to even tell it's a diesel (unlike the Powerstrokes and Cummins which you can tell from across the shop).

    Neph,

The new cummins you can't even tell are running (can't hear em or feel em). Unbelievable what the difference one year can make. They reinforced and built up the bottom end and added a lot of insulation. They're not quit as snappy as the duramax but have more torque due to their inline 6 configuration vs V8 and are prefered for pulling/towing by ranchers and construction companys at least in my area. I was shop foreman for a cummins distributor (cummins mid-america) for 7 years and worked on a bunch of the older 5.9 ltr (B series) engines in dodge pickups as well as tractors and industrial applications not to mention the larger engines in class 8 trucks (mostly what I worked on) and oil drilling rigs (draw works and light plants) and generators, including C series 8.3 ltr, L series 10 ltr, M series 11 ltr, N series 855 cu. in., K series 1150 cu.in., and V1710 cu.in.

I then went on to master the detroit deisel series 60 12.7 ltr at my next job where I was shop foreman for a fleet of trucks useing this engine.

all this shop talk is making me either hungry or sleepy.... had a bad day today, but my 2 cents worth, i am a power stroke guy, ford master certified me in them, and now my current job will get me duramax certified, but i prolly wont get to work on them anyway, cuz their warranty is so damn higg, i believe 120k miles on powertrain, power stroke and cummins have 100k

hey, is this a diesel thread?
oh well, at least i know the mod wont ban me for off topics!!! hehe !
u need answers when it comes to auto/diesel, you come to me, when i need answers on media, dvd, or anything in here, i come here !!

... Personally, I'm a supercharged Viper kind of guy ... Corvettes are okay, also ...

... Maybe there should be a 'shop talk' thread in the Safety Valve ...

Give me a 55-57 T-Bird and I'll be happy. I wouldn't even turn my nose up to a brand new one. I'm more of a GM man but still love the old T-Birds. Ok I'll settle for a late 60's goat with a 389 six pack.
    .............OOPS of topic again sorry............
