    Hi Rampage
Which app in Nero are you using? You don't have simulation burn checked do you?
How about the brand of discs your using?

For the 3 hour bit - make sure all your drives are in DMA mode (check current transfer mode also). Here's a guide if needed:

Ok your using vision then - reason 3 hours. avi's files? Or are these original dvd's ripped to your hard drive?

Do this also - post your last nero burn log.
    Look for them here:
    nero 6 - program files>ahead>Nero>NeroHistory
    nero 7 - program files>nero>nero 7>nerohistory.

Just be sure to edit out your serial # - begins w/ 1A,1C or 5C.
Post the last one - just copy and paste what's between something like this: ====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======

    Hi Rampage
Did you check the path above and see if anything was in there? It won't save vision unless you choose yes - it will save the burn part of it there.
Can't get a report from Nero.

Are these avi's files? Or are these original dvd's ripped to your hard drive? How about this?

What brand of dvd's are you using? And last question for you (for now :) - how much hard drive space do you have free?

(s)he means nero vision, it's a program that's included with nero and is used to convert video files (like avi) to DVD.

you misunderstand, if you clicked "make your own DVD-Video" then you are using Nero Vision.

    Hi,

Gwendolin, thanks for the nice and easy directions, but I'm still having problems with this. All my AVI files that I try to add get the following error: Unable to insert (file location and name). I'm using NeroVision Express 2 (Nero 6 Ultra Edition). Any help???????????
    Thanks

    @Rampage
For the standalone playback issue make sure your drives firmware is up to date and take the burn speed down a notch. This may help w/ the audio sync but might not.

Uninstall your current version - run the clean tool and try this version of Nero (use your serial #):
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845
    http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html

This version may or may not help w/ the audio sync issue on the tv series youare trying to do - should help with the file size issue though.

    @jjasper
If you not using version 6.6.0.18 - try that one. here's some links:
    Package 1
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

    Package 2 (vision & recode)
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

Do the avi playback fine? Just Nero giving you a problem opening them?

    Hi Binkie7,

Will give this one a try.

Yes, all the AVI playback fine using VLC player, it's only Nero that's having this problem.

Thanks for your time and help.......

    Hi Binkie7,

    It's working fine now, Thanks

I have a couple of other questions that maybe you can help me with???

    1. What's the difference between just copying the avi files to a DVD disc via Nero Burning ROM vise converting using Nero Express.

    2. What's the difference betwenn using DVD+R vise DVD-R (ie, is one better than the other).

    3. I'm currently living in Italy and noticed that you can change from NTSC to PAL, if I convert to Pal will this also change the region setting (ie, 1 to 2), because I played a PAL dvd on my player and it told me I had 4 times left between switching regions.

    Thanks again for your help......

    1. Converting them in Nero Vision means that the files can be played on virtually any DVD player. Just burning the AVI files to disk without converting would require a special DVD player that is capable of playing DivX/XviD files.
    2. If you have a burner that is able to, DVD+R can be booktyped to DVD-ROM, which increases the compatibility.
