GTE just called me to tell me that I owed a late fee. I paid a day in advance, so I was a bit suprised. The lady that I spoke to said that my due date had been advanced by 5 days, so my payment (which was even on time according to the payment coupon) is now late! I would re-fi this loan if I was not so close to being done with it anyway...I'll make sure to stay away from GTE in the future.

Why did we bail out the banks again?

Yes, but every time they send me a bill it has like 10 pages of news about the company in it, so I stopped reading through all the crap they send with the bill years ago. I know how much I owe, and they gave me 2 books of payment coupons, with the due date and all the other info on them, these are what I use to pay...and it is completely unreasonable that they would print these payment books up only to change the terms and not even provide a replacement payment book.
