    Nice vid, you need to double click the bin file to allow it to load to the gtromloader, you are just selecting the file by the looks of it.

    md5 results;

    GTRom v4.00.exe - d92b62128a2b1677e7dd74b3e63715b0

    thebox_Ireland_H20070705_450eE_api.bin - 3062b43b2acea815ea414644b073e14b

    thebox_UK_H20070709_451eE_api.bin - 1ae60f0c4687f2d5a8de95ea6de473df

    The gtrom is in the Starview -> Software directory.
    The firmware files the box are in TheBox -> Firmware directory.

    I think I see the problem you dont seem to have "app file only" ticked in Gtromloader.

    Correct and right scouser, although the video is a bit blurred, you can clearly see that none of the options are selected.
    As you pointed out, he needs to select the app file only radio button.

    That's much clearer now. Looks like your trying to do that using wine on Ubuntu. If I remember correctly, I tried this before, wine on SuSE, but had no joy.
    I had to install windoze on a small partition, boot to that and do it. It may work under wine, but I didn't / don't have time to mess with it.

    Can't try it on my current laptop as I have no serial ports on it.

    Glad you got that sorted.
    As for Linux, remember, the gtrom loader is made for windoze, so it's not the fault of Linux that it's not working.
