i have a bin file, but i have no cue file with it.

However, I have another bin file that came with cue file. So i was wondering how if i can actually use that cue file for the other bin file and burn it. If so.. do i put the cue and bin files in the same folder? what do i have to rename?.......can someone plz explain all of this to me?

    Thanx in advance

I hope this helps ya out!

You can create CUE files for BIN images by first drag-and-dropping the BIN file onto CDMage. It will popup a dialog box asking you to specify the interpretation format. Trial and error will get one to to successfully open the image. Once it is opened, File --> Save As and give it a new name. CDMage will resave the BIN file but now also include a CUE file to go with it.

To check to see if your BIN/CUE has errors in it, first open the image with CDMage, goto the Action menu and Select 'Scan for Corruption'. Should errors be found you then have the option of fixing such corruption. Please make a backup of your image prior to correcting any corruption as the correction process may make the rest of the image worse off. Also note that anything that is worse than a 'slight' error should be taken seriously - even if CDMage manages to 'correct' those errors, make sure you test thoroughly afterwards.

PS: CDMage is an extremely poweful (and free) utility that allows for all sorts of manipulation with almost any type of CD Image. With CDMage, you can scan a BIN/CUE for errors and corruption, fix any corruption found (remember to make a backup first!) as well as extracting data from CD Images and creating CUE files from BIN files. You can download CDMage from http://cdmage.orcon.net.nz/frames.html_X_X_X_X_X_[small]ASUS A7V8X-X, AMD2500+
    Samsung 1024MB, PC2700

    trouble with cdmage

"Once it is opened, File --> Save As and give it a new name. CDMage will resave the BIN file but now also include a CUE file to go with it."

i tried to save as, but it doesn't work? i tried all the optiions, cd rom, audio, mixed mode and video cd.
it just comes up with a error message that says
"Image type is different than assumed. Please select another type."

when it comes out and says save file as.. the bottom says "save as type" : "CDRWin and Fireburner cuesheet file (*.cue)"

Do i need fireburner or cdrwin? can't i just burn it with nero...?

    plz help

Hi, I just made a copy of a game with alcohol120 using bin/cue files and I was able to install the game, but when I want to play it, a message appears saying that the cd isn't in the drive. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    1. CDRWin and Fireburner cuesheet file (*.cue) just means that it will save as a BIN/CUE file
    2. Image type is different than assumed. Please select another type. means that when you opened the CD image you failed to select the appropriate read format or something like that. Or it could mean a fukt up BIN file. Try checking it for errors too (Actions --> Scan for Corruption) but dont correct any corruption unless you make a backup copy
    3. If you really really need a CUE creator, google one up or PM me

geko: That error message means that you failed to make an accurate duplicate of the CD. (1) what burner do you have and (2) what game are you trying to backup?

I open Simcity4.cd2.iso and try to get it running but it wont. So then i tried using Nero to burn the iso and then insert the cd but it wont autorun. Is there a way i can get the cd 2 to run?

Hi everyone! I´m quite new to this thing but have managed to make myself some backups. What have been driving me insane lately however is making backups of PSX bin/cue files. Everyone is praising alcohol 120% but I find it to be a rather schizo program. Why?

Description: I had a BIN and Cue file (playstation1 game) which I tried to burn with nero after selecting "burn image". For some reason the ultra edition did not want to do this so I tried alcohol 120%

I selected the image-burning guide and crammed it all onto one cd-r. After putting it into my PS2 the machine starts chugging like crazy and guess what? It doesn´t boot heh... (chose the slowest burning speed 4X and ticked the playstation box RAW DAO)

What´s really confusing me is that the backup booted perfectly (after a million of tries) when using re-installed nero program. I suspect that chosing "Disc-At once 96 did the trick but WHY? How come that alchol did not work?

Managed to make a successful backup of another psx game with alcohol so this is confusing me a lot. Any clues???

I'm not sure on the ins and outs of playstation burning but DAO and DAO96 allow for a lot more special informtation to be burnt on a cd. Perhaps the game/console required such information.

    edgy:
RAR files need to be extracted before anything useful can be done. Usually cd images are RAR archived (sometimes nested-archives too). So to get a useful file out of a RAR (or a bunch of them), grab WinRAR and extract the *.RAR file (if you have a bunch of 001,002,003... files, use the 001 file, i.e, the lowest one, drag-and-drop it into WinRAR and extract from there... the remaining files will autotmatically be located and such).

DAT files are VCDs i am not mistaken. If i am, then they are SVCDs. Simply fire up Nero, select (S)VCD and use the DAT file.

Well now Í´ve done it. Nero has finally managed to duplicate my g21 chromosome...
Felt like experimentating and decided to try burning the Cue/bin to a cdrw which did not work. Then I burned the same Cue/bin on a regular cd-r with the same settings I used when burning the successful copy. Guess what? It says: burn process completed successfully BUT it does not work in my ps2!

WHAT am I doing wrong here???
OK the burn speed is 4X and can´t be altered for some reason. Is this why?

Or should I choose the "image recorder" instead of my CD-r,RW device???
This is starting to tear my poor gaming soul apart :´(
