Indicitive of incompatible media perhaps?

 

Sounds like you have a cracked-out out BIN/CUE hehe. Try this more general technique as a fix:
1. Extract the appropriate file (i.e., the big 700MB movie part) from the BIN.
2. It might be worth to check if your BIN is corrupted and fix it if need be (make a backup first!)
3. Test to see if the MPG/MPEG/DAT file plays on your harddrive okay. To do so, open up a software DVD player (i.e. powerdvd or windvd) and drag-drop the MPG/DAT/MPEG onto it and see if it plays. If it doesnt, stop here hehe
4. Use Nero's VideoCD or Super VideoCD compilation and burn that file you just selected. Remember to burn slowly.
5. Enjoy!

To check to see if your BIN/CUE has errors in it, first open the image with CDMage, goto the Action menu and Select 'Scan for Corruption'. Should errors be found you then have the option of fixing such corruption. Please make a backup of your image prior to correcting any corruption as the correction process may make the rest of the image worse off. Also note that anything that is worse than a 'slight' error should be taken seriously - even if CDMage manages to 'correct' those errors, make sure you test thoroughly afterwards.

To extract data from CD Images using CDMage, first open the image using CDMage (or drag-n-drop). Note that you have to correctly select the input parameters in order to open it (trial and error will suffice). Once the image is opened, goto the file(s) you want to extract, right click and select 'Extract Files...' provide the destination you want to extract to and whatever settings you desire and click 'Extract' (You can get CDMage from http://cdmage.orcon.net.nz/frames.html)

To extract data from a CD Image using ISOBuster, first open the image (or drag-n-drop). Then select the file(s), right-click and select either "Extract <filename>" or "Extract Objects". Specify the destination you want to extract to and click OK/Save. (You can get ISOBUster from http://www.cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/isobuster.cfm)

To extract from a CD Image with WinISO, first open (or drag-and-drop) a supported CD Image with WinISO, select the file(s) you wish to extract, right click, select "Extract" and specify a destination and extract away.

If you mean to create a CloneCD image from files on your harddisk that would be extremely inefficient but.... doable:

1. Create a ISO/BIN image from arbitrary files from your harddrive
2. Mount the ISO/BIN onto a virtual drive (Alcohol, Daemon, CloneDrive, CDROM Emulator,e ct)
3. Use CloneCD to create an image from that virtual CD.


Step 1:
You can create a CD-image from an abritrary set of files using WinISO. To do so, (1) Start WinISO (2) Actions --> Add Files/Add directory (3) Actions --> Add Files/Add directory (4) When done adding files, File --> Save As --> Give it a name (5) If you need BIN/CUE files, Convert --> BIN to ISO

You can create a CD-image from an abritrary set of files using Nero and CDMage. To do so, (1) Start Nero (2) Make a DataCD with all appropriate settings (3) Recorder --> Choose Recorder --> Select Image Recorder (4) Burn as you would normally by Nero will ask you to specify a location to save the NRG (cd-image file). Give it a location (5) Open CDMage --> Drag and drop the NRG file into CDMage (if it asks you for 'method' of reading, select Mode2/2048... that should work... if not, fiddle around). (6) File --> Save As --> Give it a name (7) Default save options should suffice

Step 02:
DaemonTools, a FREE virtual drive allows you to mount CD Images and emulate various major protection schemes. This means that you can play a protected game even if it is still in a BIN/CUE or ISO format on your harddrive. Step 03:
Extract the CD IMage with ClonCD as per usual.

 

1. Cant talk about specific anticopyprotection hacks due to the rules.
2. Perhaps the Audio forum may be better suited as audio topic quickly exceed my knowledge base
3. As for duplicating Audio Protection, i would recommend you use Alcohol120 rather than CloneCD simply because in my experience, CloneCD has never done a 100% perfect duplicate of an audio cd. Alcohol (and Blindwrite) on the otherhand... perfect every time.
4. What kind of protection is on the CD? (use ClonyXXL to find out)

 

1. What game do you have? ALmost all games are protected and unelss your game is pre-hacked then to play it properly you will have to replicate the protection scheme. 2. When burning a SafeDisc2 protected game the important consideration is the model of the burner... some burners do better than others... some fail miserably... what make/model of burner do you have?

3. If your copy has been prehacked than you can just burn the image as it. Fire up Nero, close the New Compilation dialog box and,

Nero 5: File --> Burn Image..., Select the CUE and burn away
Nero 6: Recorder --> Burn Image..., Select the CUE and burn away

Remember to burn slowly or you wont be doing it properly.

 

Could it be a fake?

 

Typically a "wrong volume" error simply means you have put the wrong cd into the drive. Aside from that, have you tried running the install right off the cd? (i.e., close the stupid autorun thing, open MyComputer and running the cd from there?)

You are correct in that it is the 2nd best method unless you want to get into emulation and such. There are two options (1) Overburn or (b) Use larger media. I have yet to see a game-image greater than 800MB so grab yourself some 800MB discs and you are set. Of course you could split the image into two pieces and burn that but you would need to extract it back to use it.

SplinterCell is SecureROM protected isnt it? Which means it is absolutely neccessary that you get the label name of the cd correct. This means that "My_CD1" is NOT the same as "MY_CD1". That is prolly the solution to your problem.
