    hi

I have scart to s-video adaptor connected from the VHS recorder in to a D-Link USB capture device and the previews and recordings are in black and white.

    Anyone any ideas?

    Thanks

Yeah I have that problem as well! I also have no idea why this is. I'll check back later for replys!

Actually just fixed this thorny little issue.

The answer lies in the fact that scart seems to be translating into composite rather than S-video. Therefore on the back of the adaptor a RCA lead should go from the video out socket into the RCA lead on the D-Link. And then you'll get glorious colour.

The other issue I found was that non of the software that comes with the D-Link recognises the RCA connector. Nice one D-Link oh and by the way why wasn't a driver included in my box? The answer to this is to find a copy of PowerVCR II from Cyberlink which does the job briliantly.

If this doesn't nake sense, let me know and I'll clarify the issue.
