Using TMPGEnc 3 Xpress and ffdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder, the resulting outputted file seems to have lots of horizontal lines on it (i.e. picture seems to break up into hundreds of horizontal lines).

Playing the original file via Media Player and its fine. GSpot reports using the ffdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder to play the file. It also says it is MPEG2 video format, but its not of correct format for PAL DVD which is what Im after.

Is this an interlace problem? I would normally use TMPGEnc Plus but I cannot persuade it to recognise the file format.

    cheers, Ray

Google the mpeg 2 VFAPI reader plugin for tmpgenc plus.
There's a link to it somewhere on the videohelp.com site.
Install it, and now tmpgenc plus will be able to read your files.

    Hi Jim

TVM, got the codec required to get TMPGENC working OK with these files.

Still seeing a very liney picture whilst previewing on TMPGENc although it seems to encode OK when watching the results on DVD.
