Looks pretty clean to me If you dont want those particular programs to start up, just click Start -> Run -> and type MSCONFIG Now click on the Startup Tab, that will show all the programs that startup, take the ticks out of the ones you dont want to startup and restart CJC

Hey Your log looks pretty clean to me. By the looks of it, you dont have an AntiVirus program installed, not a good idea. You can download a Free antivirus called AVG Free from www.grisoft.com Have a read of the first post here and run Adaware, Spybot and Online Virus scan. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/128251 CJC
I have norton but I turned it off before I did the scan because it wouldn't let me save the log. I was almost afraid to come back here because I didnt want to see that bloodhound warning again haha Thanks again CJC. I will be back.....but hopefully not for awhile.

Hey Put a tick in the following and go fix selected. **C:\PROGRA~1\TRENDM~1\INTERN~1\TmPfw.exe** This process doesnt ring a bell for being with Trend Micro. Also by the looks of it, you are running both Trend Micro and Nortons, you should only have ONE AntiVirus program installed at any once time. Hi CJC Wow, you are very clever! It seems I too have bloodhound exploit 6. A trojan has been showing up in my spydoctor for the last couple of days and I successfully delete it only for it to reappear on the next reboot. I downloaded ad-aware today and tried unsuccessfully to download spybot. I got a norton message while surfing this morning telling me that I had this virus. I did a norton virus scan but it came up clean. I have just downloaded hijackthis and here is my log. Thanks ever so much for all of your input. Hey CJC Thanks, the problem's solved for now I think tho it's left behind a legacy of DSOExploit as uncovered in Spybot, plus a slow system. I'm thinking of reformatting the comp after the hols. Well anyway, happy holidays to you! Regards, spindry
I had this same bug pop up on me but my Norton's q-tined it. This what I did. 1. Download your latest Anti-viral def's from whomever you have your antivirus with. 2. From your desktop, right click "My Computer" click Properties. Select "System Restore". Turn the Restore point option OFF for now." 3. Reboot your PC in SAFE mode ( only the necessary stuff gets loaded upon bootup) 4. Run your AV program and let it clean everything real good. 5. If it gets rid of it, simply reboot normal, then re-enable system restore. More than likely this is what is happening. When you remove the virus once, all seems happy and normal. But when you reboot, the damn Restore feature of XP does it's "job" and restore a few previously deleted items, quite possibly including your virus. This is what I did anyway.

If not, put a tick in those aswell. Also, what version of nortons are you running, by the looks of it, its an old version. If its anything earlier then 2002, i would uninstall and either get an updated version or download AVG Free from www.grisoft.com CJC
Hi CJC Just a follow up...I will do as you have said. My jam21 speed dial is our local server (I live in the boonies) and I am using a corporate norton antivirus which gets updated quite often with the latest virus definitions. Thanks for your help. Also, I just updated spydoctor and it looks like the trojan may be gone?? I am going to do a norton virus scan in safe mode as I just updated norton last night. Thanks again, have a wonderful Christmas
Hi CJC Just to let you know that spydoctor picked up the trojan again (trojan drsnsrch)?? Stubborn isn't it Cheers! I am off to do my virus scan in safe mode now
Hi I have just finished installing and running all the programs that you guys have suggested in this thread (including norton in safe mode). I was hoping someone might be able to have a look at my Hijack this log file to see if I have anything left to do.
