its my ram not my video card cause my video card has inbuilt silent pipe design with no fan. How annoying though all my parts were new, i guess the cheap generic ram came back to bite me in the ass. never buy cheap stuff is the lesson learnt here.

    Thanks to everybody who helped!

Glad to see everything worked out in the end. :) Sometimes to pay that little bit extra is good for peace of mind. :) Happy Gaming!!!

ZOMG! i was just playing age of mythology with my new ram stick which i got today and it did the same thing as before (restarted without warning, then when windows started up it said serious error).

i did a ram test and it had 9 errors. my last ram stick had errors too. im wondering is there anything im doing wrong eg. putting the ram in wrong or in the wrong slot etc. or is it purely the rams fault?

i used test my hardware and when i clicked on motherboard it was ok, but when i did RAM it says: "2579922944 is not a valid integer value"
and then the program crashes, everyting else works ok.

so im thinking it's still the ram.

ok, i got new ram (Again) this time i got a kit of 2x512mb running at 533mhz. i installed them both and then scanned for errors, There were NONE!! yay!
test my harware still said the same thing though...

so then i went into cpu-z and it said that the memory is only running at 250mhz or so, isn't my memory supposed to be running at 533 or there abouts? how do i get it to run at the correct speed?

With one of the motherboard programs that you have on the computer when you installed the motherboard drivers and software. You should have got a program for increasing the cpu speed. What motherboard programs are you using??

    Edit

The other thing that comes to my mind is what is the file system format your system is running on is it, FAT32 or NTFS???

i am using ntfs file format, also i have easy tune which came with the motherboard, but i am worried about the ram over heating??

i read somwhere that cpu-z displays the speed of the single module and you just have to doulbe it if you are using a dual configuration.
