I use Nero 6 Ultra Edition, but it really doesn't matter to much which one you use. Although it is good to update Nero every now and then to assure that you will get no bugs when burning things.

It's one of the best burners around; the only issues I've had with it was trying to burn a dual layer DvD. Other than that, it's

Do you need a mod chip for the backups you create with Qwix and Nero on your Xbox?

 

No. Backups can be played on a softmodded xbox. But a modchip is the way to go. I recommend the Xecuter 3 CE mod chip.

 

A softmod like action replay?

 

Action Replay isn't a soft mod. You might wanna do a search for softmod info. Or just get a mod chip (Preferably Xecuter 3)
