    I'm OLD not dead.
    Bitsetting means setting the bits in a chip in the drive so that it will change the format on the disc that it writes to be either +R or -ROM, etc..

    Oh ok - gotcha! Understood. So I guess my next question would be how do I change the booktype if I wanna use CloneDVD as my choice to burn?

    My guess is, if you don't have bitsetting on your drive, your SOL.

    @newtechie

    If you set the "bitsettings or book type" to DVD-ROM via Nero Burning Rom, then it "only works" when you use Nero Express, Nero Burning Rom, Nero Recode 2 or Nero Vision to burn. However, Nero will store it permanently in your drive and every burns will become DVD-ROM when using DVD+R, DVD+RW or DVD+R DL media.

    If you set the "book type" via DVD Decrypter, then it only works with DVD Decrypter, but you'll need to change it everytime you're burning.

    In query to CloneDVD, sorry I don't use CloneDVD, but I believe there's an alternative way as well. Hopefully someone that used CloneDVD will resolve your question in due time.

    Hey Guys,
    Think about this, I am Old and have been programming computers for over 40 years, during that much time one has to learn something, if only by exposure..
    That is why I use the quote from Will Rogers in my Signature. I have peed on a lot of electric fences in my time and have been burned. Like using Memorex discs and putting stick on labels on them when I first started burning DVD’s. Live and LEARN….
    Just remember Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

    Ok guys - a little info update. The tool that 2old told us about doesn't work with no other drive. I tried to run and it gave me an error message saying "target drive is not found". Looks like I would be able to do it in Decrypter and Nero without no problem; however I usually use CloneDVD so I checked inside DVDInfo and you can change the booktype there also and it does work.

    Yes, that's what I said above -- I guess I didn't make it clear enough. I meant Nero has a drive (Nero CD-DVD Speed drive/driver) that can set or change the bitsetting/book type, and once you set/changed the "book type" via Nero Burning Rom or Nero Express, it will store inside Nero Toolkit's CD-DVD Speed drive permanently, unless you change it back.

    Notice: I said; "it "only works" when you use Nero Express, Nero Burning Rom, Nero Recode 2 or Nero Vision to burn."

    Yes.... the drive is from Nero CD-DVD Speed. When I said "drive" that's what I meant. **Notice: I never said DVD burner's drive.
