So i've read a lot of the posts, but i just wanna know flat out:

what's the best way to take a DVD-9 and back it up onto a DVD-5 with a single layer burner in terms of quality?

i've been using DVDshrink but the quality is terrible and even when you chop shop it, it only vaguely improves

i just wanna make good quality back-ups, so what proggy should i use?

I wouldn't say the quality is terrible. What size tv are you viewing the backups on? How big/long are the movies? And, what brand of media are you using?

    Give DVDFab a try -

You can always use DVD Shrink OR recode2 and split the DVD in 2 so there is no comression at all :)

Ya can't get any better than a 1:1 backup :)
