First thing first, just to let everybody know that I never build a computer before.

I wanted to build a new computer but don't know where to start. I will probaly buying everything from Newegg. The computer will mostly used for internet, watching HD movie, converting video (ex. DVD into avi) and etc.
I will spend around $1000 on all the part that I need.
I already have the following parts so what else do I need.

    - 320GB WD external hard drive.
    - 500GB WD internal hard drive.
    - 22" LCD Monitor.
    - LG DVD RW drive.

Would like to build a quad-core computer.
Thank in advance for the advice.

You need a case, motherboard, cpu, cpu cooler, ram, power supply, case fans, operating system and cables. Are your hard drives IDE or SATA ? Make sure motherboard supports whatever you already have and you will need graphics card unless you get motherboard with built in graphics card. There's a lot of good articles if you google how to build a computer. I did a lot of reading first - Good luck
