are you using both sticks of ram or just 1?? try using your old ram if fits the slots to see if got buggered ram
just using the one. i'll shut'er down and stick the old ram back in, then format again. *edit* now there's a pc2100 512mb stick in there, and i presume it's in the right slot (nearest the processor). let's see how it works. buggered ram would be a godsend, methinx.
that stick sure does make it run slower. i've got two 256's of pc2700 around here somewhere...i might stick that in later if this works.
i've done some reading on Microshaft's site, and that error is indeed (seemingly) a memory error, more often physical than virtual. that's comfirmation to me. if it's not the ram, it's the hard drive. i'll know in a few hours or less *edit* so, bad ram can cause random restarts?
i did look on the microsaft site for the non paged error but it needed a more exact (numbered) error i think. but yes the errors i looked up were suggesting physical prob with ram. bad ram can most definitely cause random restarts/problems
how fair is the reload now? if proven that the new ram is buggered than either get 2-256meg ddr or 2-512meg ddr so that if you lose 1 still got the other til get replacement.
i had an old pc2700 256mb ram stick and a pc2100 512 mb in my last setup...the old 512 is now in the box alone and the pc3200 is sitting on my desk currently, we're "installing devices" with 34 minutes on the clock.
ppl i know nothing about the inside of my PC.so could'nt help so iv'e sat on the outside looking in at the way you work. i applaud you all. welldone. clapping of hands
all this sitting on the floor of the boat kills my neck. i need a good woman, never mind all this PC stuff !! (to massage my neck)
