Hello, this will be my first time to build my own tower since i heard its just better to build then just go out and buy a tower. I will be getting all my parts from www.tigerdirect.com I already have everything picked out but want to make sure from any of you that can help me maybe decide better with my choices. I already orded the Tower Shell. Its already here at my house. Tower Case Now this is the MotherBoard w/CPU i have my eye on. Mombo w/CPU This is the CPU Fan. CPU Fan Here is a case fan i own and bought already. Its installed on the back of the tower case. Case Fan Here is the Power Supply. Power Supply As for anything else like the RAM i am not sure about yet. I already own acouple Hard Drives and Dvd Burners. So i won't need to buy them. So do u think i have a good setup?? Also remember im trying to keep this UNDER $400.00. I already own a ATI Radeon 9250 Graphics card and will use it on this motherboard until i can afford a PCI-E graphics card. Am i missing anything else?? Please tell me what u think!
unless that radeon 9250 card is pci then you can't use it. the ram for that board uses ddr2 not ddr or ddr3.
Its VisionTek 9250 128Mb PCI WM as it is stated on a sticker witch is placed on the graphics card. Other than that, what do u think about my choices? Do u think this will be a good gaming tower for my 1st built. Thanks for responding back.
depends on the ram amount & what videocard you will end up using that helps to determine if good gaming pc or not.
Thats where i come to a dead end as in the ram for now. I am not sure what to get. I know its DDR2, but theres 2 kinds. Theres DDR2 & DDR2 DUAL Channel. Lets say i just choose DDR2 then thats where i get stuck again, lol.. Theres like 5 different kinds, Like.. PC3200 PC4200 PC5400 PC6400 PC8000 How should i know? After i am told the right one to choose i probably will only go with 1-gig of ram for now. I mean thats really good since iv been only using 512ram right now in this old pc. LOL
you can use ddr2-800; that's pc6400. it says right HERE. don't even go for 8gigs. you would need xp x64 or vista x64 to get past the 3.5gig limit. and always use a kit, so you can use dual channel.
Ok with that said, i'll go with RAM Since its the most popular. Think thats a good choice?? So nobody can give me there 2-cents on the motherboard or whatever else i am wanting to buy? I guess this will be a good choice then and cant wait until i get everything i need to get it running. Thank you!
go with a set, like THIS. crucial is one of the respected names. most members buy their motherboard and processor separately. so can't say much about combos. but the pentium d should be tossed in favor of a core 2 duo.
So what CPU will you be going with? You haven't posted a link to that! That motherboard does not come with a CPU. Give your budget it's also needlessly expensive and high-end.
I have a link at the beginning of this thread. I just missed spelt it, opps.. lol.. U mean the CPU Fan Correct?? If thats it, then ya there's a link
Well i think im unsure about my motherboard and Cput Bundle. I may want a something better.. Does anyone know of a motherboard and a Cpu that will cost under $160 & that is still better then the Motherboard W/Cpu Bundle that i had listed on this thread?? I want something that will be good for gaming. It will have to fit in my Med Tower Case. Please list everything i would need if i changed motherboard & Cpu please
I do indeed... LOL I even looked at the page again to double check, and still didn't see the CPU! On a more serious note, most CPU & motherboard bundles are pretty lame. That's one of the few exceptions, but the CPU is very slow. How about: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3301655 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3079365&CatId=1533
So as i read more and look around at forums, Iv been hearing these are good to go with.. CLICK HERE If i go with that, I would have NO clue what to buy as a Motherboard that would cost Under $150 or so, Depending on wut i can afford and how fast i want this Tower Built. Does this CPU Processor sound better???
They are indeed very good CPUs. I mainly tend to recommend Gigabyte motherboards, but for reasons unknown to me, TigerDirect don't sell them. You could get that CPU cheaper, and with a decent Gigabyte motherboard at newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115031 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128059 Total cost: $214.98 including delivery.
