Heeeelp! lol. 1.I am nearly illiterate and new this. 2.I have some .avi movies and would like to watch them on my television. 3. I need to burn them to DVD. 4. I have done this by converting them to .vob files and burning them. when I do this, they still look fine on the pc, but completely choppy on my home system. 5. does anyone know why this is? 6. is there an easier, softer way? 7. I also have a few tv series I would like to burn that are also avi and will likely be on multiple dvd's. 8. I have winavi, cucusoft, dvdlabpro, and nero. 9. what do I do? 10. In dummy terms please. 11. thank you for your time in advance.

Have you tried them all? If they all can't give you right dvd,may be something wrong had happened.You mean that the converted file can be played perfectly on your pc?If this,may due to burning.

The burner burns original .vob files just fine. soo... i dunno I do have one more problem... it is likely the burner. it is compatible with rewritable dvd's and every burning software I use recognizes rewritable dvd's when I request an analyzation. It recognizes them as the type I purchased, that they are empty, yet when I try to burn using them, I am told they are illegal discs! and my dvd burn process fails. ever seen this one? anyone?
you are using crappy media! Stick to the [bold]Made in Japan[/bold] rule. Look on the lable of the spindle or box and make sure it says MIJ. Verbatim is the only exception to this rule.... they are made in Taiwan/Singapore.... and Verbatim is the only disks I would trust from Taiwan. You won't get pixelations, skipping, or freezing with these disks. then next thing is your burner. What is your make and model and firmeware? Use Nero InfoTool to find out what your make, model and firmware are. Firmware for your burner as that sets new write strategies for new media thats out.. Firmware is programming that is inserted into a programmable memory area of your drive, thus becoming a permanent part of a drive. This 'software' is called firmware and can be updated with a firmware flasher. Every company has its own methods to allow you to do a firmware upgrade. A firmware upgrade can add new functionality to your drive. Also bug fixes and improvements are done by firmware upgrades. To find you firmware go to your burner homepage and find the firmware for you make and model.
Hi What should I do if my NEC 2100AD 1.26 firmware is old, but working fine, and supplied with an HP machine. On the NEC web site, they say don't touch that stuff, go to HP. At Hp, even on the phone, they told me I have a Phillips burner. Well that's news for me... They only problem I have encounter in more than 2 years of 3-400 burns, is that I have to use slow speed for DVD iso Tanx in advance
your firmware looks to be up to date..... what is the full model # is it ND-2100A? Is this a laptop burner? Just curious.... According to two different sites the ND-2100A most recent firmware is 1.26 on one site and something different on another site. I would stick with your current firmware. Just use better media.
Well tanx for your fast commentary. My burner is a NEC DVD+RW ND-2100AD. Firmare is 1.26. Your advice to use better media is welcome. Tanx a lot I use Nero 7082 and everything is smooth
