    @peanuts2,

    According to my understanding, DVD Decrypter is still the best of all. I've heard of Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120 and BlindWrite, but my preference is (1) DVD Decrypter and (2) Nero. However, the choice is yours to make.

    Daemon tools is a virtual drive and emulation app.

    Alcohol 120% can install virtual drives as well as emulation but daemon tools cannot make backup of games, only Alcohol can do this.

    can you back-up a pc game using just dvd decrypter as an iso file? or is it better just to use alcohol?.I noticed that people use dvd decrypter for ps2.I'm trying to figure out in alcohol what this raw/dao setting and the program,and wheater a-ray scanner is needed.I just backed up a doom3 iso to DVD and wondering which is the best way.I just want to try to back up ut2004 to a dvd or make it an iso file to burn with either dvd decrypter or alcohol.I never jumped into backing a full pc game from scratch.I just took doom3 iso and burn with DD.

    I burned full throttle for pc but sound is choppy. I used alcohol but am not sure if i chose all the right options before burning. It asks if its ps2, psx, etc. format. I think i chose something like normal cd. Is there a program that is best for burning pc games and what options do i check to make sure game is going to the best it can?

    dekine,

    Open A120 -> on the left click Virtual Drive -> set the # of virtual drives you want and click ok.

    Oh sorry i wasn't specific enough i guess. I know how to make a virtual drive but what I want to do is make a virtual drive of the first disc of the game so i dont need the cd to run it. Is this possible?

    Hopefully my 2 cents will help you. I had the same need recently but for a CD with mixed data and I used Extra Drive Creator Pro. This worked flawlessly. I won't bore you with the details since you said you already know how to create a virtual drive. Sorry I cant recall where I downloaded it from since I happened unto it by chance, after doing several searches for a CD drive emulator. Feel free to ask for further assistance if my advice is of benefit to you.

    I`ve just backed up a copy of the Sims 2 PS2 version,using DVD Decrypt. and burned ok using Maxells at 4x.Got a problem at the boot up,game freezes on intro screen ("The Sims 2") using Swap Magic 3.6,checked the image file and there are no dummy files.
    Any suggestions??
