    Can You burn an audio cd using a program other than Nero? If you can't, your problem is most likely not Nero, but your burner.

    Just checked the Best Buy ads and Sony is $14.99 for a 50 pack and Verbatim is $8.00 for a 25 pack. Headed that way......

    Tried using Easy CD Extractor to burn a music cd, didn't work. Look like my drive has failed :-(

    @dogman5

    The Sony +R 16X were from Taiwan, the 8x +Rs were MIJ. The -R 16X were made in Japan also. The MIJ had the octagonal retainer on top of the spindle. $14.99. Bought 2 X8s.

    Well, at least we now know what the problem is. The bad news is you have to spend some more money, the good news is you get a new burner! Luckily they are not that expensive. I just replaced my I/O Magic with a BenQ 1655 Lightscribe and absolutely love it.

    Yeah, mine should still be under warranty. It can't have more than 85 burns under its belt. If they send me a replacement, it will be sold and I will buy a different drive. Looking at NEC's, BENQ's and Liteons

    Thanks to everyone who helped me try to figure this out. I think I'm going to get the BENQ drive you just stated Fireman
