one week ago everything was working fine. I was using DVD Shrink. even when i use Nero i get the same error. "illegal disc" Can someone please help? i am trying to burn files that have been coverted from avi to .iso. If you are using Gateway OEM then there is a firmware update of 1.72 (I assume you are as your current f/ware is 1.70) from here http://ftp.gateway.com/pub/hardware_support/drivers/win_2k/dvd/9528682.exe DMA needs to be on, heres a guide to turn back on http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038 You dont have much free memory, dont multitask while burning. These are poor quality discs, try Verbatim or Sony (made in japan) Far too slow, try 4X
