    Could someone please help me?

I am a complete beginner. I am trying to make my first backup on my mac.

I have downloaded the ISO and have also downloaded abgx360. I add the file to be checked and then click on a few tabs.

When I hit launch nothing happens. It doesnt open a terminal window and check/repair/patch the file. Why would this be?

    How do I fix it?

Is there another way to create a stealth patched backup on a mac?

    Hi all,

Wondering if you can help me here.

I have been using iburn360 to burn my games on my mac no problem.
Until a friend told me that when iburn patches the iso file it takes the stealth patch out that abgx fixed?

    Is this right?

    My process has been

    Check iso with abgx
burn with iburn360 which askes me to patch before burning which i have been doing.

All games have worked fine but are they stealthed?

    Thanks
    RS

    @ kdtruitt

sounds like you have a laser problem. i'd suggest cleaning your laser.
my 360 wasn't playing certain games disc error clean disc etc
other games worked fine, i cleaned the laser and BOOM, it works.

i tend to clean monthly now.

so do you just open it up and clean it yourself? or do you have the cleaning disc? how do you go about this? I think this is the problem too, so any more information would be great. And thank you for the help!

Well to clean the laser you need to open up your xbox. DIY TIME.

You could try a cleaning disc, but I decided to do it proper and give it a good clean.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GLS1dndQLU

there are other ways to clean it too, just search youtube and if you need help opening up your xbox again just type "how to open xbox 360" into youtube and you will find your answer.

if you look above at one of my earlier posts, this page or the page before,
i have a list of things needed to open up the xbox 360. i got a bit confused because some people say you need to unscrew the little X screws. but it's not needed.

you only need a torx 10 driver.

Take apart the 360, then take apart the drive, you'll find the laser lens exposed, take a q-tip and clean the lens with that.

Jungle Flasher doesn't seem to recognise my samsung ms25 drive?

    any suggestions?

I installed my via driver and then uninstalled the drivers and installed portIO32.
but i'm still not picking up my drive. my via is the 6421 suggested but it's showing up in device manager as VIA 3249. I've uninstalled the drivers but it's still showing as the same.

Samsung drives are only done from DOS using a USB stick. (iPrep)

I tried Iprep and I'm getting the same problem.

When the list of drives comes up, it shows my sata, I type Y to cycle drive. I switch my 360 on and off, but nothing happens. Do I need a connectivity kit?

And I've tried plugging into the different sata slots but nothing works.
Plus something about not being able to find Sam0FW.bin

I managed to update the firmware successfully.

But now I'm having trouble with ISOx360. It burned two games and they worked fine. Last night and today I tried burning two different games. I left it for awhile and all of a sudden the burn has finished. I'm pretty sure it stopped half way through cos I wasn't AFK for long. Anyway I just keep getting OPEN TRAY on these two games. I burnt one of them twice with no avail.

what disks are you using? cheap media ultimately becomes more expensive when they are consigned to the bin, I'd recommend Verbatims.

I use verbatims. It's definitely a problem with ISOx360. It stopped working after my macbook fell asleep mid-burn. I just burnt the same two games perfectly fine on X360_ISO_HACKER. I will try removing ISOx360 and installing it again cos it is by far my favourite.

I'm having problems burning anything at the moment. I keep getting error about the laser power failed to calibrate? never had these kinds of problems before. Googled extensively and got people saying it's the burner failing, others saying it's a region problem.

Your burner wouldn't care what region disk you were burning. More likely bad media or a failing burner.
Try other media, or try burning some other kind of disk, a film perhaps?

Thanks cfletcher. I'm getting rid of my gaming PC that I normally use to burn my XBOX 360 games. Making the household a Windoze-free zone, so I wanted to make sure I could still burn with my MacBook Pro. Using ISOX360 I had no problem burning Bioshock 2.

    I take it you're a member at xbox360iso.com?
