I have been burning games successfully on my macbook useing both CloneCD on a Windows instalation in VMWare Fusion, as well as iburn360 natively in mac os x. Obviously it is easier/more convinient to back-up games natively using iburn360, but does anyone know if the patch iburn360 applies strips the "stealth patch".

I am using stealth patched games only, and though my iburn games work perfectly, I don't want to use them if the stealth patch isn't working.

Hey just a quickie, I've been reading this whole thread with a LOT of interest and it's convinced me to get trying! Only thing is ... does anyone know if the xecutor blaster 360 will flash the xbox or does this device still require a PC to operate it?

Okay and a really lame question ... but how to you rip the game off the disk to the harddrive in the first place. Sorry. I try but not the most competant Mac users yet! Still keen to have a go!

The blaster only makes it easier to flash your 360 as when its installed you dont have to open the 360 everytime you want to flash the drive. And you need a pc to flash the drive as you cant do that from a mac yet. Also ripping/copying a game requires a pc too. All you can do on the macos side is burn an image.

    hope that helps

Thanks that does help. If I can get the xbox flashed, can i rip and copy the games running VPC or fusion? I see some people have had success then copying back down with cloneCD doing this.

im using iburn360, when i click burn it sound like its burning but there is no progress bar like nothing is happening. This is what the box says:

    Executing 'builtin_dd if=/Users/tukue656e/Desktop/Azureus/Family Guy/Halo 2 Killtrocity Mappack (modded)/Half_Life_2_The_Orange_Box_XBOX360-CCCLX/ccclx-orgbox.iso of=/dev/rdisk4 obs=32k seek=0'

But there should be more type like blah blah blahpercent_done=1

but thats all it say, is the game still burning?

worked every time for me. I have now made 45 back ups.
iBurn worked zero times for me. several coasters because it looked so simple i did not understand why it did not work. gave up in the end.

I just did a few tests and it has nothing to do with iburn 360 or clone cd, its to do with the type of media. I tried 5 TIMES on iburn 360 on a ppc mac..failed.I tried 5 TIMES on clone cd on a windows xp...failed. Then when i tried with verbatim disks it worked on iburn 360 and clone cd, the FIRST TIME!

I am going to be a total noob by asking this, but I have searched both afterdawn and google, and I am still confused.

Do I need to have a flashed xbox 360 to play backup DVD's?

Also what is the best program for making backup images?

    I really appreciate your responses

I have a Mac intel with DL burner and PC with DL burner. I have bought a stupid ass external burner for the PC ( HP ) and I cannot change the bitsetting in imgburn coz of the damn firmware, so unless im want to crossflash to lite-on or buy yet another burner, im gonna have to go with the Mac.. dont get me wrong, i love mac and use it all the time..

I have a 360 with NME chip ( guess what, because of the HP burner, i have not been able to burn nothing but coasters, eventhough I can change layer break and all)

Is the right way then to use the PC to patch the iso with NMEassociator, move the iso to a NTFS formatted external HDD and over to my Mac, where I can burn the game using iburn? Can parallels be used instead?

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

after many attempts and trials i finally backed up my first game.
i'm running a 2.16 Ghz INtel Core 2 Duo Mac. i downloaded Parallels and imgburn. i manually inserted the layer break and used the burner that came with the Mac. didn't take too long, but i was afraid i would have to buy an external burner but the one that Mac provided is more than sufficient.

Nice! Congrats.. Well I have the same equipment as you, yet when I lauch imgburn in parallels, no burner appears?! Think I read somewhere that parallels dosnt support burning. Perhaps I need a newer version.. Did you have to change some settings in paralles for it to detect you burner?
