I have a dvd+r burner. I can burn a dvd to dvd with dvd xcopy, and it will work fine in my dvd player, but when I make a dvd from avi or mpeg files with video studio 7 my dvd player doesn't reconize the disc. I've wasted many dvd's trying to get this to work, anyone who can help I would appreciate it.

I think that you make a DVD structure (VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS) from an AVI or MPEG with Video Studio 7 and than burn it to DVD+r (also with Video Studio 7).
Mayby this software burns in DVD-video mode and is not compatible with your stand alone DVD player. Did some tests and burning in DVD-rom UDF/IFO mode is much more compatible with stand-alone players.
    I suggest:
Concert the AVI and/or Mpeg files to DVD files (VIDEO_TS and the VOB, IFO and BUP files). Save them to Harddisk.
Burn the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS with NERO 6 in the DVD-rom UDF/IFO mode.
