Burning CD's with Nero

    Hello everyone I'm new here.My issue is I can burn cd-rw but can't burn cd's, I use to be able to but something has happened.
    Please help

    windows xp home
    3 gig cpu
    1 gig memory
    hp dvd 840 bunner
    dvd reader

    Forgot to tell you what program I use Nero 6.6.0.18
