how come it is a must to burn the games at lower speeds at 1-8X for dreamcast playback. i am new to this and i want to know if burning at faster speeds messes up my dreamcast.

You should always burn games at the lowest speed to make sure the game will run well. The faster you burn it increses the errors you can encounter. Like long load times, music skipping, choppy cutscenes ect.

I just started buring DC games today as well. Already made 2 that work fine, and 3 coasters already. One game just refuses to burn right and the 3rd disk saposedly burned ok just isnt booting up.

actually its not so it dosnt do damage to the console its just that the slower a game is burned the better it will run usally.
