burning dvd with nero

i have been trying to burn a dvd to disk off hard drive it starts as an mpeg i convert to mpg2 then using tempeg dvd author to make vob files but when i go to burn to disk nero gets to about 13% then it freeze and dont burn no further what am i doing wrong i use nero 6 does it have probs working with xp what other programs can i try

 

Why all the middle steps? Nero can handle mpegs very well.

 

cus my m8 said i needed to make a video ts file witch contains vob files so the disk works on my dvd player

 

Whatever, you may try to burn directly with Nero first. The fewer steps involved, the less chance of error:
At Nero StartSmart, click 'dvd', then 'make your own dvd video', then 'add video files'. Select and paste your mpegs, then follow the lead from there.

P.S.: You may want to burn to HD first to check if everything is O.K., then to RW, then to -R or +R.
