I have a 6.3 GB movie/Image file. I'm trying to burn this to a 8X DL DVD. I've tried Nero - Clone DVD - Ashampoo - DVD decrypter- w/o results, just coasters. I always get "Write Error" even at the slowest speed 2.4. I am using a Plextor 740A drive and low cost DL disks. I did use Shrink and burned the file to a 4.7 GB disk w/o problems. What gives? This is my first attempt at DL disks. Thanks
And you ask why the coasters. Low cost DVD-5 media is risk. Low cost DVD-9 media is not a risk. You will fail, no doubt. Post a Nero log so we can look for other problems.

Since you're getting a medium error in the log, I'd say the suggestion to get some Verbatim should be followed. Many of us have found that ImgBurn is the best burner for doing a DL burn. Haven't tried the Nero 8 yet. Also, your DMA settings are all off. For drives with the eide cable interface, the drives need to be in DMA On of some variety. SATA drives don't work the same way.
