I know this has already been covered, but I'm still having troubles burning DVD's that will work in something, other then my PC. These are the Blanks I am using: memorez 8x. I am using DVD Shrink 3.2, and Burning with Nero 6.3 Ultra... The copies work beautifully in my pc, but on stand alone DVd players, they usually freeze up, pixelate, or dont work at all...I have put labels on these, I hear, in part, that may be one of the problems, and perhaps the media isnt quite up to par. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I have just purchased these:Taiyo Yuden 4X DVD-R DVD01X0238 in Silver Shiny Wrap. I hear they are very good. Be advised, I am fairly new to this whole process, and any advice would need to be in lamens terms....Not an idiot, just not quite up to speed on all this burning lingo! Thank in advance guys. Ron
Well it seems you went in the right direction by getting the Taiyo Yuden discs. That should resolve your issue. if not let us know and we can try to help.
@juliano, very VERY wise decision in purchasing those 4x Taiyo Yudens, i actually JUST posted a scan tonight for them found HERE: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/262544 VERY good quality score burned @4x (it's the scan that says TYG01-which happens to be the mediaID coding for that particular disc) anyways, ditch the memorex, those are seriously poor quality CMC MAGs...YUCK~! that same thread i linked above will show you some ATTROCIOUS scans of a CMC MAG disc (Memorex)...how awful is THAT even without the label on it, which is NOT a good idea to put on your dvd discs by the way~ do NOT put labels on these new Taiyo Yudens u just ordered/received~ you will be JUST fine~... also, update your Nero 6.3 ultra to the newest one in the 6 series which happens to be Nero 6.6.0.18~ you only need to download package 1 and package 2 from nero website other than that, may i ask what dvd burner you are using? meaning name brand and model number? since you will be burning onto dvd-r media, "booktyping" is not even an option (changing dvd+R format media to the universally accepted dvd-rom format prior to burn) so, start with those suggestions and take a gander into the dvd media forum where i WILL/CAN/HAVE ALREADY given you all the info you will need to be successful in backing up dvds on GOOD QUALITY media~ as per my sig, use the "good stuff" and you will be fine...good luck docTY~
You guys are a great help!! I won't put on any more Labels, and will be looking forward to burning new disks with the Tyuden disks... Using Optorite DD0401 with latest firmware.....
