Hello, I have tried to burn all of my mp3's to dvd for back up purposes using Nero 6 burning rom but didnt have much luck. Whilst the files seemed to burn to disc okay I am unable to play the disc or explore the disc to view the files.

I did it as a standard data disc as I wanted to keep the files as mp3's.

Can someone suggest what I may be doing wrong and how I can fix the problem?

    Thanks.

You do not want to burn them as a data disk, this will make the files read only. Nero 6 has the option of making an MP3 DVD and this is what you use. Just backed up my collection yesterday for transfer purpose, and this is the method I used. It plays on my standalone and the menu comes up on the screen. Look in your startsmart in Nero under the music note.

Thanks arniebear. I just looked at that option and will use it.

    Thanks again.

Good luck, this should work out for you. My daughter did the same thing and made the data and it would not work, it is an easy mistake:)
