Burning a CD or DVD from your your ROM drive directly to your CDRW/DVDRW+/- burner. eg: Rom drive D to burner drive E. This method is not always recommended for burning DVDs due to increased chances for errors.
Thanks for replying. Just to be sure I understand since this method is not recommended. I currently have two burners in my box and I use both Nero and CloneDVD2 to burn. Both programs save the files to my hard drive and then burn to the disk in the other burner...does this mean that I am burning on the fly?
When you burn 'on the fly' you bypass using the hard drive, going directly from the DVD-ROM drive to the DVD-RW drive .. the only time that this recommended is when you're copying a DVD5 disc and you don't have the HD space ... I usually copy CDs on the fly, but NEVER DVDs
