Go to Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt and copy/paste the last burn log that shows your error.

Update nero to the latest version 6.

Get different discs, those are not good quality. Get some Verbatim.

You have a driver that is known to conflict with nero. Download Roxio zap and remove it:

    What burner do you have(Nec/Sony/Toshiba...)?

    reeve1987,
This is your burner. My notebook has the same make. I've scoured the net, but haven't seen any firmware updates nor a feasible cross-flash to this burner.

Indeed...however, the reason I asked was because it could be in a Medion laptop, or a Toshiba...the drive could be a NEC OEM, Toshiba OEM,Sony OEM, and they have different firmware.

Unfortunately, couldn't find any update either.

Try manually resetting the access mode by uninstalling the drive and then reboot.

Right click on My Computer; Properties; Hardware Tab; Device Manager; expand CD/DVD ROM Drives; double-click on the burner drive; click on Driver tab; select Uninstall; OK, then reboot. At first boot, Windows will detect and install the drive. Also, attempt to burn at 4X, and see if that'll bear any luck.
