    Hello there,

I'm not too familiar with the actual workings of programs like Nero. I never had any real problems with it before I installed Vista and got the new version of Nero, now at least 50% of my discs end up in the bin, and it's starting to cost me! I'm hoping one of you fine people can help me out, I will be eternally grateful. Not sure what to say, so here is a log of the latest failure:

You might try slowing down the burn speed. I had failures burning images at 16x.

You seem to be using good media, but there may still be a problem with it and your drive. There is updated firmware for your drive, perhaps that would help, or try changing media.

Since Vista logs don't show DMA status on your drives, you might check and make sure it is turned on. About the same as WinXP, Device Manager-IDE ATA controllers, Channel 1 or 0, depending on where is drive is situated, and then Advanced-Enable DMA.
