    Hello Binky

I got that 20x LiteOn. Just tried burning something, and this is the result:

I'm guessing it's media problem? Still the same one.

    Hey tydytao
Let's edit out the serial # at the top of the log - begins w/ 1C. Don't need someone else using it.

Maybe a media problem - the media id is now in the log. The Windata you are using made by AML - not the best at all.

But you also have a power calibration error. Media and/or firmware can be a cause. The media is poor and the firmware is current.
When you installed the drive - is it on it's own power connection?
Not split or sharing with something else? (another reason for a power calibration error - shared power connection).

    Nero API version: 7.2.3.2
    Using interface version: 6.3.1.4

Do the clean install of Nero now too. See post above for links.

Since this is a newer drive Nero doesn't fully it - you see this in the log Connected to MMC as unknown drive with class-nr : 1
Drive is autodetected - recorder class: Std. MMC recorder

A Nero update may help this.

DiskPeripheral : WDC WD1200JB-75CRA0 atapi Port 3 ID 0 DMA: Off
One of your hard drives need DMA mode turned back on. Here's a guide.

Give those a go and let us know.

    Hi binkie,
That's weird. Following the guide, all DMA is turned on. Would it being off cause problems?

The drive is sharing power, with another DVD-ROM drive. Should I remove it?

Yea sorry, I keep forgetting about the new Nero installation.

I realized I had the serial number up after i posted. I wanted to remove it, but I dont have the option of editing my posts. Sorry, I'll remember next time

You should have the option to edit the post - look to the right and you should see this [IMG]

If you're transferring data/files etc from that hard drive - yes it could - different transfer rate. The hard drive was in the much slower PIO mode.

Yep you need to stop the power sharing :). Each drive should be on it's own connection to power supply. That may just be the main cause for this burn failure.
Have any extras you can use?

Yes - it's a 120 gig hard drive made by Western Digital.
    It's on the master connection.

Well, I dont have an extra power supply core, unless if its better to have seperate power supply for the cd/dvd drives and have the 2 hard drives share.

Also, is it better to have the burner in slave or master?

You just need one power supply for all - it's the connectors from the power supply that you shouldn't split/share with the other drives.

If you don't have a spare connector - leave the dvd-rom unplugged from it and try burning again.

Shouldn't really make a diff on the master/slave. But you can set the burner to the master connector and the rom to the slave.
Just change the jumper pins on the make to match the place on the connector.
