    That's piracy and if you ask again you're gone.

    Try burning enabling "amplify weak sectors" rather than "emulate weak sectors" at 4x. Did you read the image slow? If not read at 4x.

    I'd give them both a shot.

    You can use A-Ray Scanner to find out

    OK i worked that out by myself but i am still confused on how to Hide the CD-R. I followed the instructions Programs>Slysoft>CloneCD>and CloneCD Tray comes up but when i click on it nothing happens.
    I would appreciate it if anyone could help me with this problem, thanks.

    "Hide CDR" works in the background so there's nothing to see really.

    Sorry about that i realise my question wasn't really clear enough. I am having the same problem as xlaxmat, i backed up Sims 2 with CloneCD but when i try to play it it asks that i insert the correct disk. I understand that to overcome this i need to 'HideCD-R' like you said but i can't find it. The CloneCD Tray is there but when i click on CloneCD Tray nothing happens and if i rightclick on it the 'HideCD-R' option is not available either.
    Thanks again.

    Just in case this problem persists, do you know of any other way i can play the game using my backup, thanks.

    @Harrykewel,

    What make/model burner are you using?

    Install CloneCD Virtual Stealth Drive or Daemon Tools and mount image of The Sims 2 (CD 1). The days of making 1:1 backups of Macrovisions Safedisc 3.x are coming to a end...

    Virtual CloneDrive 5.0.1.3

    What other versions of CloneCD offer the "Hide CD-R Media" feature? By the way Nephilim my DVD burner is a TOSHIBA ODD-DVD SD-R6252, Thanks.

    Always use the latest version of CloneCD simply because games are blacklisted. This basically means if "hide cd-r' is enabled, some games won't launch. The newest CloneCD should launch The Sims 2, Madden NFL 2005 with "hide cd-r" enabled :)

    We're all here on our own free time and none of us get paid to be here so if you get lost in the mix don't get pissy about it. If you're still needing help then just ask again.

    I have a question, I enable the HIDE-CDR function on the CloneCd and then when i try to put the disk in...it stays at that first screen and then i eject the disk and it says "Detected CD/DVD emulator software, please close and re insert" Is there something else I can do.

    I had the same problem, the reason it wasn't working for me was because i had not yet actually opened CloneCD. Once i'd done that and selected Hide CD-R Media, the game played without the message 'CD/DVD emulation detected......'
