camstuf that not to be discussed piece you added to your sims 2 backup is the problem it disables the build mode you need to replace it with the orignal file(you did backup the orignal didn't you) then try loading the game with your backup of cd1 if that don't work try mounting an image of cd1 in a virtual drive

p.s. nephilim like your bye bye animation

    meta1,

I've already warned two people in this thread about discussing cracks!

You're not special so don't do it again.

How did you get the Splash Screen to get unstuck?

Ok, so everyone says that CloneCD works, but I keep getting the "please insert cd into cd rom and click ok" error, or something like that in any case. People say it should work, and I have a rather nice burning rom, that I know is capable of burning the cd if it can be done, but I guess I have the wrong setting. Could someone help me there? What write mode should I use? Should I preform laser power calibration? Do I allow "Amplify Weak Sectors"? And aside from buffer underrun protection, that's all I have to chose from. Am I missing any options that I should have?

Can someone please give me a step by step with as much detail as possible how to make a "back-up" of Sims 2?

This is the situation. I've got the IMG, CCD, and CUE files for all 4 CDs on my hard drive and I have successfully burned them. I have also successfully installed all four of them onto a machine. The problem is that when I try to play the game, CD1 (ie the PLAY CD) doesn't read. The little SIMS2 splash screen comes up but the game never starts.

I used Alcohol 120% to burn the CDs and I have unchecked all the emulation items as indicated in many posts. I burned the disks as SafeDisc 2/3 at 8x speed. Several people have said to do it at 4x speed but I don't have the option to go any slower than 8x.

It's extremely frustrating because I know that I have everything I need for it to work, but some step is eluding me. If anyone has had a similar problem and can post or private message me the solution it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

well you cant see this but on sims 2 i got the cds and installed it perfectly with that pathetic game but after i open the sims 2 game it stays on a screen that has a big white box with sims 2 written in it.

if i leave the screen to go for ages my pc just crashes
