Never mind. Stupid question! Disregard it. So if i do this and i run blindwrite, to copy the dvd version of the sims 2 (using the copy software in blindwrite5) will it come out good, meaning it will work like the original? Thanks so much!

I have the sims 2 installed on my pc but i don't have the cd. i'm trying to get a no-cd patch and something that removes that "please disable cd/dvd emulators" message. anyone know where i can find these patches or help me get rid of that "cd/dvd emulator" message?

Too bad. You should've bought the game. No asking for cracks, serials or patches per forum rules.

    @ agentcar

There's nothing guaranteed when it comes to backing up these newer protections but with the settings I gave and and a capable burner you stand a damn good chance of cranking out a good working copy. What make/model DVD burner are you using?

That means it's a poor copy. Even some of the shoddiest copies will install, it's running the game that defines success or not.

What make/model burner are you using?

What read and write speeds did you select?

I'm not sure on the capabilities of your drive so give it a go and see what happens.

    @ drummupet

Your question has nothing to do with this thread topic. Go ahead and start a new thread so this one doesn't get confusing trying to solve two different problems at the same time :)

    @ bayernm13

Your write speed is way too high. The best results will come from reading and writing at 4X :)

Hey i made a new batch of back-up copies of some sims games that i copied with Clone CD V5, the installion process worked well and it didn't say Please eject and re-insert the CD-ROM, select OK and restart application anymore which made me really happy and as it was about to start the game properly when it gave this The Sims Superstar has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. I don't know what is wrong maybe safe disc.
P.S i've tried it with alcohol 120% and also CloneCD V5. My writing speed is 4x just like you recommended before. HElP ME!

    @ bayernm13

What make/model drive are you using? The version of SafeDisc that Sims2 uses is a pretty tough one so your burner needs to be EFM capable.

    @ camstuff

Let's not post links to sites who's home page has a huge list of nocd cracks ;)

The gist of this thread is making a working copy of Sims2 without resorting to cracks.
