I have been attempting to burn downloaded video files to VCDs and it is a big pain! So, now I am thinking about getting a DVD burner for my PC. My question is, will I still have to convert all of my AVI files to MPEG with a DVD burner, or will that not be an issue anymore with the DVD burner? How does the burning process work?

From what I understand.....the quality is gonna suck if you dont do it from the original. Besides....to be quite legal you should only 'back up' the stuff you own.

I know what you wanna do.
No that is not possible, you still have to make a MP(E)G file of the AVI (Divx/Xvid).
The only advantage is you don't need 2 CD's for one movie.
