Burns freezing

    I have bought this new media dics called Laser 4x DVD -R Azo Dye,but some movies i have done begin to freeze a third of the way through the movie.I gave some to my mate and they have also froze on his players.Are they the discs playing up as have had no trouble with this happening with Teac brand.

    If the copy you gave to your friend was burned on your PC one of two things could be wrong:-


    1. The media is bad quality (which is usually the case)
    2. The media you are using is incompatible with your burner. If this is the case it *may* be fixed by updating your firmware (the 'bios' of your burner if you will)

    I use lazer(4X) in my burner, and they are fine. But some other "high quality" brands like akai, have issues. (I use the term "high quality" very loosely, as i dislike akai)

    If you know a certain media works well, stick with it.

    But if you want to try to make the cheaper brand work, have a go at the firmware upgrade.

    There may be a guide and file for it at the website for your dvd burner. like for LG its www.lge.com

    On the other hand, If you mate burned the dvd on his PC. I'll need to know more info.

    Specifically if you used the same file.

    I have a Plextor DVD burner... WORKS PERFECTLY ALL THE TIME.. Try investing your money in a quality DVD Burner

    BTW... My Plextor will burn stuff my Lucky Gold Star burner wont.

    Yes i burnt them myself on my LiteOn burner,but having alot of different troubles with media discs.I have played the movies back on puter,they r ok,but when put in dvd player,they have played up.
