buying a starview what do i need

    HELLO I HAVE JUST ORDERED A STARVIEW BOX CAN ANY ONE TELL ME WHAT I WILL NEED TO GET UP AND RUNNING ,ALSO ANY ONE HAVE ANY IDEA HOW LONG THEY STAY ON FOR ONCE THERE UP AND RUNNING,AND IF THEY DO GO OFF WHAT SORT OF CABLES AND THINGS DO I NEED TO GET UP AND RUNNING AGAIN. THANKS EVERYONE

    you will need a Null modem cable to download data from your pc, you might get one with the starview box ask your supplier. you will probably need to install the latest firmware if your supplier has not already done this. they dont go down that often, but if they do i'm sure some helpful person on here will sort you out.

    CHEERS JIM WHERE WILL I GET A NULL MODEM CABLE FROM IF I DONT GET 1 WITH THE BOX THANKS.

    everybody seems to be getting them from maplins, if theres none in
    your area try pc world,comet etc

    Your friend Ebay, Maplin is a good second if you can't find a wholesale components supplier close at hand.

    FEKKER YOU RECOMEND E BAY FOR ONE OF THESE NULL MODEM CABLES .ARE THERE ALL DIFFRENT KINDS IF SO WHICH CABLE DO I GET . CHEERS GARY.

    just set up my starview after getting it today. selected the automatic scan most channels there apart from all the movies and the sky sports .so fekker if your out there what do you suggest mate cheers GARY ps thanks for letting me no where to get the cables from.

    GOT THE BOX WORKING ALL CHANNELS NOW. JUST 1 THING WHEN ON SKY SPORTS ITS JUST A SMALL SCREEN LIKE HALF OF PICTURE IS THERE ANY WAY OF GETTING THE FULL SCREEN.

    Set the screen resolution on the Starview to match your TV eg; 16:9 or 4:3.
