I have Xecutor 2.6 on a 1.6 Xbox. I have never had a problem with it and would highly suggest it. i ordered it premodded from modchipworld.com so i can not vouch for doing it myself but i can vouch for their quality of the install.

I also got a hard drive upgrade which is nice but not necesarily needed.

    hope that helps

The Xecuter 3CE is an excellent chip as is the Xenium Ice-The smart LxX is a good one but whatever you do stay away from the Spider-Chip. I've heard nothing but bad things about it.

I would highly recommend the Xecuter line of ModChips. I have a Xecuter 2.3b and I never had a problem with it, its very solid and reliable.

It al depends on how hard you want to work to install the chip I think. I would go with a solderless chip if this is your first chipping experience. I personall use the Xenium ice. Took about 15 minutes total to install and havn't ever had a problem with it.
