Just use SkyMax. This time around erase twice more, do not try to write. Power off after each erase. On the third pass, do not erase just bypass this and go directly to write. It may take a few attempts.

After finally getting an new power supply for my PC I can provide some feedback.

I've tried the method you suggested but still no joy. So that you can 'see exactly what I'm doing I wrote down each step and the resulting message from SKYMAX.

    Eurovox Power is Off
    Launch SkyMAX_2.2
    Set '1 - Adr Fash' to 2MB
    Set '2 - LPT Port' to LPT1

    Power up Eurovox
Red Stand-by light and 4 green ---- appear
    Select '3- Connection' start

    Following appears:

    Init JTAG
    IDCODE : 1D405041
    CPU : STi5518
    Stop CPU
    Clear Trap : Please Wait...
Load Trap -> Ram : Please Wait...
    Load Trap : LEN Ok
    Init Trap : Please Wait...
    Trap_Wptr 80000534
    Trap_Iptr 80000140
    Start Trap : Please Wait...
    Load EMI : Please Wait...
    Init OK :)
    ---------------------

Select '4 - Flash Operations' Erase
    Following appears:

    Init JTAG
    DCU OK
    Trap_Wptr : 80000534
    Erase ADR[7FE00000] : Please Wait...

    ---------------------

    Unplug power to Eurovox
    Close SkyMAX

Repeated the above process. MSG BELOW FOR INFO

I understand your frustration as I have gone through it ;) At one stage it was a corrupt TSOP file that would allow me to erase but not write. Try this one from Eamos here you will need winrar, (or any other zip utility) to unpack it first.

Try it out and see how it goes. But I can see it has erased and the trap is fine, so writing should be successful. But as said a corrupt TSOP file caused this for me sometime last year.
