My SD cable box only has AVI outputs which connect to a TIVO. The TIVO has both componenet and S outputs. Will I have better picture quality with the TIVO S video out to the TV or will the cable box with only AVI output be a limiting factor and thus there will be no improvement going from AVI to S from the TIVO to the TV. It is a 12 year old 52in SONY Old School projection TV that the kids use.
OK, I just opened the up the package and tried the S cable and yes, it is better than the yellow composite. Amazing that the CATV box does not have a S output. My HD one, at least, has component out.
