Cable Boxs - Whats working - Please read before posting a question .....Especially New Members

all the old boxes go to recycling except what is below

Any other box can be dumped as there will not be any fixes for these boxes at any time

 

I only mention whats working, just used a few examples of whats not to highlight

It looks like a basic cs set-up is the only viable way to get around N3.

I have a DM500C, can't this be connected to any of the severs which the other boxes are using?

If not it looks like the KryptView A780 for me!

 

no you cant connect to any of the servers that starview or krypt are using

Well nobody has them at the moment as they ae all sold out till mid Oct

 

Just as a another bit of info for some users

Your old boxs are not Freeview boxs, the wont work as a freeview box, as the Freeview box in the UK is a different box. We dont have Freeviw in Ireland

The old cable boxs are really FTC or FTV - Free to Cable or Free to View, which means in the orginal state the would have only picked up free to view chans, since N3 has kicked in, this is now what they are again, Free to View cable boxs, meaning you will only get a few chans, prob 4 or 5, your better of sticking the cable into the TV directly as you will get more chans now

Just to clear up some of the confusion some folk have and thinking they can be used as a Freeview box.

 

Does anyone have any info on when kryptview will bring an HD box out?
