I just got my hands on an xbox for free. well as of booting it up today, i found out it has an error 6. Is it possible for me to use a hardmod xbox to fix my xbox, and if so how? aim:tms5785
Simple answer... NO.. The drive is locked to the wrong eeprom.. probably some idiot playing with config magic on a softmod. Here is your solution http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/357863 or buy a chip and a replacement drive and bin the original one.. llammas xbox page has various methods to unlock stuck HDD's but without a chip you will still need to either chip it up or get the eeprom data using the method in the link
