Can a Starview box pick up other channels other than what NTL transmit ?

    signal booster query i was told a few years ago that if u were buying one to make sure it is a duel device for vhf and uhf,is this still the case or r the next generation superior?

    i think what was ment by that was if you wanted to pick up for example terrestrial channels like for instance BBC or RTE theres provisions for that on SV

    can any one tell me can u get the starview to work on n*l on mmds i got my friend one and flashed it like mine and when he hooked it up it said no signal or bad channel im on the normal and works perfect can anybody help or is their different software for it to get mmds if so can u send it to me we have the box

    not sure about n*l mmds but did you try the freq change fix when u scanned in for the first time ?

    click my name on left and look for the starview thread , then on that thread look for the 'freq change fix' . i think it s 4th one down !

    i did all that first mate and it still didnt work , would u need different soft ware for mmds , i flashed it with the irish firware for the box and turned on the emu , that should be it shouldnt it mate

    N*L mmds is using dvb-c and chor*s mmds is using dvb-t in Ireland.

    I think The problem is the channel scan on a starview box. The frequencies used for NTL mmds are slightly different than for n*l cable !

    there is someone checking that situation out at the moment have a little more patience and all will be revealed dont do anything (firmware or software)with box for now

    It does work on N** MMDS but it is area dependent and may be incurring multipath issues.
