if you were to right click your hard drive than click properties should tell you near top left side whether fat32 or ntfs
My hard drive is NTFS. Also, I called maxtor suppoort and he gave me an idea of what I need to do. Apparently my hard drive is partioned because I could not use the excess amount of space prior to installing service pack 2. He told me to delete the partition and do a quick format and everything should be ok. But I have one small problem....now I don't remember how to get to the hard drive screen where all of my hard drives and partitions are displayed. Can anyone tell me how to get back to that screen?
Also had the problem with a 250gb maxtor drive only showing up as 128. You have to have SP3 for 2000 or SP1 for XP AND you have to run this reg patch you can download off of maxtor. http://www.maxtor.com/portal/site/m...TA Hard Drives&downloadID=11&displayEULA=true Hope that helps.
I fixed my hard drive by upgrading to sp 2 and deleting the partition. Thank you everyone for your help!
