I use the retail version of tmpg 3.0xpress. I use to be able to convert all my avi's to dvd formats. Now, every single avi I try to open, tmpg says that the video could not be open, only the audio. So I go and try a different program. Dvdsanta will crash, winAVI says it can't open the video. Now, I dont know why this is happening. I tried old avi's which i have converted before, and new ones, and now all of em give me this problem. Does anyone know what could be the cause of it?

TMPGEnc, like a lot of windows apps relies on installed codecs (default is VfW/ACM, but it can use directshow).

Go to the software tab above and select Codecs link. Look for K-Lite Codec pack and install that. You're golden!
